Although we strongly encourage you to save money through our app, we’re aware there are plenty other ways you can save too. Here’s a guide on some of our favourite extra ways to improve your financial wellbeing:

SPARE CHANGE? SAVE IT.

Let’s be honest, carrying coins can be annoying but they’re still money after all!

The most traditional way of saving and one we’ve all probably attempted once in our lives?

Piggy banks!

But you don’t have to use an actual pig; try an old water bottle, a jar, a shoe box - you get the idea. And if you think you’ll be tempted to dip into your savings, try tins you can’t open OR start small (5p, 10p, 20p) and gradually save bigger amounts (£5, £10, £20).

LOYALTY CARD? REGISTER.

There are tons of brands out there that have loyalty cards so take advantage!

If you often find yourself visiting the same shop or buying from the same brand again and again, check if they have a loyalty card and register an account ASAP. Many stores don’t share their loyalty schemes openly either, so ask!

PAY DAY? SPLIT IT.

We love the 50/20/30 rule.

As soon as your pay check arrives, divide your money into three categories; your essential needs, savings and debts, and wants. This will help you keep track of your spending and save time having to work out what you can afford as the weeks go on.

HUNGRY? MEAL PREP.

Meal prepping isn’t only handy in the fitness world, it helps save money too.

It will stop you from dining out or ordering takeaway when you can’t be bothered to cook and saves buying tons of ingredients for different meals each evening. Go the extra mile and only buy in bulk when items are on sale!

CASH OR CARD? CASH.

This is a great alternative for those who struggle with budgeting. Try using cash when you want to purchase something, minus the monthly bills of course.

There’s no denying using cash makes you more aware of what you spend as it’s physically leaving your pockets.
